The Housing and Community Strategic Policy Committee.
Strategic Policy Committees have their origins in Government policy, Better Local Government A Programme for Change which was launched in December, 1996. The role of SPC’s is to advise and assist Local Authorities in their work. It is intended that the SPC system will give Councillors and sectoral interests an opportunity to be fully involved in the policy making process from an early stage.
